How do I use metl clothing clips?

metl clothing clips are designed to attach directly to your garments to create shape, tension, or an accent. Simply secure it onto your clothing and adjust the fabric of your garment to cinch or add draping at the waist, across a blazer, on a skirt, or layered over oversized pieces. Alternatively, the clip is the perfect length to act as a collar clip or cardigan clip.

What material can metl clothing clips be used on?

Each clip is made to be functional and durable on most everyday fabrics, including cotton, denim, lightweight knits, and suiting materials. However, it may not be suitable for extra thick or heavy fabrics such as heavy wool coats, dense leather, or heavily structured outerwear.

Sheer or delicate fabrics (silk, chiffon, fine knits) are best styled with the clip as an accent. We recommend avoiding tension or structural holds on these fabric types. 

If you’re ever unsure about a specific fabric, we recommend testing on an inside seam first.

Will the clip snag my clothes?

When removing, gently open each clip before lifting it away from the fabric. Avoid pulling it off directly, as this can cause unnecessary tension, snags, or fabric stress. We recommend testing the clip on an inside seam first.

What are the clothing clips made of?

We use stainless steel clips and chains to ensure durability, shine, and tarnish resistance. Any additional charm or accent may be different material, such as 14k gold-plated or glass beads. Additionally, the jump rings attaching the chain to the clips are fully soldered closed to ensure maximum durability, preventing separation or distortion with regular wear.

Our clips are handmade with care in Vancouver, BC.

Shipping

We currently ship to Canada and the United States. We are working on including international shipping in the near future and appreciate your patience while we grow.

All orders are processed within 1 business day (Monday–Friday, excluding holidays). Orders placed after 12PM will begin processing the following business day. Once your order ships, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information.

During product launches or high-volume periods, processing times may be slightly extended. If this happens, we’ll communicate clearly via email.

Please note that any customs duties, import taxes, or additional fees imposed by your country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are not included in the product price or shipping cost and are determined by your local customs authority.

Returns

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at hello@metlstudios.com. 

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

The flat rate for return shipping is $19.99 CAD which will be deducted from your final refund. Please note any import fees paid by the customer are not eligible for refund.
